Career Opportunities in Urdu Language & Literatures

Urdu Translator and Interpreter :

Urdu Translator and Interpreter translates audio, videos, and script in Urdu into different languages, mainly English. They also work in government organizations for interpreting press releases of foreign nationals. At universities and museums, they have to deal with translating ancient Urdu scripts and books into English and other local languages.

Teacher/Professor :

Aspirants who choose the Education industry for their vocation get to teach the Urdu language in schools. They even work as Professors in colleges and universities and are also hired by Madrasas.

Tourist Guide :

As individuals or in groups, Tourist Guides explain the history and landmarks of a significant area to tourists/visitors.

Urdu Writer/Editor :

Urdu Writers/Editors cultivate creative writing pieces for print and web media. They create innovative content like blogs and articles to attract the readers' attention.

• The department has its separate Urdu section in college magazine in which students contribute articles and poetry.
