About the Department
The department of sociology is the U.G. Department of the college established in the year of 1960. The subject ‘Sociology’ contributes to the society in the pursuit of education, learning and research at the highest level of excellence. The department of Sociology is committed to excellence in teaching, research and extension activities in the field of rural and urban areas in Vidarbha region by providing necessary guidance and support to students
The department has Ph.D. Research Center.
The department organizes different types of programs like visit to orphanages, old age home, child care home etc.
Students actively participate in social survey and study different types of social issues.

- Human Resources Management - A part of being a sociologist includes interacting with a large number of people every day. This is the foundation of being an HR specialist who analyses job roles, decides if a candidate is suitable for a particular job, interviews the candidates to arrive at a decision.
- Survey Researcher - As the name suggests, survey researchers conduct surveys to make various decisions. These include observing patterns of social and political issues, health and culture, and how consumers are reacting to a particular product or service.
