About the Department
The Department of Persian was established in 1960. Due to New Education Policy there are more opportunities for students to study Persian than before. Therefore new curriculum has been designed as per the requirements of the modern age. Besides, the teaching work at U.G. level, it also provides adequate facilities and guidance for research leading to Ph.D. degree. College Library possesses the unique treasure of Persian Books.

- To develop awareness and interest among the students for Persian language and literature.
- Establish an educational environment that helps to promote research, innovative ideas and principles.
- To impart soft skills and ethical values in students and help them become responsible and disciplined citizens of the country.

- To create interest among the students for learning Persian language and make them aware of its values and scope.
- To encourage students to participate in different activities as well as for the competitive exams like NET, UPSC and MPSC.
- To prepare students to work as translator, teacher and researcher.
- To promote interdisciplinary research.
- To hold sessions of eminent scholars of Persian.

- To organise conferences, seminars, workshops, etc.
